Bronze Aged Gold Hilted Sword Found Beneath A Playing Field
When you are digging you don't what will you find underground it might be insects, it could be nothing, it can be treasure troves, it can be a hoard of coins or it can be a suspected Bronze Age sword with a gold hilt that may be up to 4,000-years-old.
Diggers began laying foundations for the new sports field when they uncovered ancient artifacts on the site. Work occurring on the playing fields has now been stopped because archaeologists will search and study the site.
There are many findings in the area and on their early excavations, they found a trove of ancient artifacts that are believed dating back thousand years ago.
Now a sword which appears to be having a gold hilt, or handles, dating back to the Bronze Age was discovered by Archaeologists but due to its fragile nature of the find, it has to be especially lifted in order to conserve it for experts to examine in a laboratory.
It is said that the digging could last for weeks because there could be more ancient artifacts waiting to be discovered underground.
