In the video, the Kurdish sharpshooter is seen aiming her rifle out an opening at what is believed to be an unseen Islamic State fighter. A split second after the woman takes her shot an apparent ISIS bullet hits the wall just behind her head.
The woman slowly lowers herself to the ground smiling. Immediately afterward, the woman exchanges an excited, seemingly happy dialogue with her companions, though it is unclear what she is saying. The woman then tells the man with the camera “Enough, enough filming,”
The footage was posted on Twitter by Kurdish journalist Hemze Hamza who is currently embedded with the YPJ fighters. The tweet that accompanied the clip said: “Kurdish women know no fear. Your average human being would be scared for life after being so close to death but she kept laughing.”
