Alfred Vargas, is a Filipino actor, model, and now a politician in Quezon City.
Alfred started his career as a member of ABS-CBN Star Magic acting workshop Batch 10. From there, he had his TV role in the drama soap opera, Pangako Sa'yo, from the same network. But he was acting in theatre long before the talent scouts lured him into television.
His breakthrough role came in the film Bridal Shower. After this, Vargas moved to the GMA Network where he featured in three shows in Philippine television: the daytime drama series, Daisy Siete, the fantasy series, Encantadia and its prequel series Etheria.
In 2010, Alfred was elected city councilor in the 2nd district of Quezon city, with the second-highest number of votes in the district.
Vargas won for the Congress in 2013, due to reapportioning from 2nd district to newly created 5th district of Quezon City which consist parts of Novaliches area.
Last July 2017, Alfred Vargas re-married the love of his life, Yasmine Espiritu-Vargas, at the Manila Cathedral in Plaza de Roma in Intramuros. The two had already their civil wedding in 2010, but Vargas promised Yasmin that he will the wedding she wanted someday.
Yasmine has been also dubbed as the look-alike of Kapuso actress Marian Rivera. She revealed that she is a fan of Alfred until they got into a relationship and get married at the Supreme Court in 2010. The couple has been blessed with two kids named Alexandra and Aryana.
