Sam Bumatay, like Miguel Tanfelix, was joined to the reality-based talent search program called Starstruck Kids, aired by GMA-7 in 2004. She was declared as the starstruck Kids Ultimate Female Survivor.
After Starstruck, Miguel and Sam appeared in the telefantasya Mulawin. Sam Bumatay also played as the doll-turned-child Sam in QTV'sitcom AY! Robot Starring Ogie Alcasid, Tanya Garcia and Eunice Langusad.
In 2006, Sam was nominated as Best Child Actress in Mulawin:The Moie for FAMAS Awards and Star Awards for movies.
However, after years in showbiz, Sam Bumatay decided to left showbiz and focus on studies.
Currently, the former child actress is studying at the University of Sto. Tomas
