This abandoned stable just proved the saying. What looked like an abandoned building from outside turned out to be a beautiful, luxurious home from the inside. Carlos and his sister Camino wanted a hidden getaway home among nature away from the hustle and bustle of a city.
That's when they discovered this old building that was once used as a shelter for cattle. The building was in ruins and falling apart, but the siblings saw the real value of the old building and made something amazing out of it.

They are partners at an architectural firm, Abaton, in Madrid. They were searching for a secluded country home for their extended family. That's when they stumbled upon an abandoned cow stable in rural Extremadura, Spain.

This is where they used to keep the cattle.
There was no electricity and city water. Everything was falling apart.
Everything was in ruin when the sibling worked their magic.
The house has two streams with water all year round.
Carlos and Camino worked the streams into the design of the house.
The water travels through the house and then water the area around the house.
No changes were made to the original structure.
They did not make a change in the house structure but added cement to the crumbling walls.
They wanted to keep the ranch feeling of the house. The house is spacious and modern from the inside.

During winter the sunlight pouring in is enough to keep them warm. There is no need to light the fireplace. And during the night the wooden shutters to keep in the heat.
The shutters protect the house form rain, wind, snow storms and close in the heat.
During summers, they have fresh and cool air coming in from the patio windows.
They produce their own electricity.
They have solar pannels for when there is sun and turbines for the winter when there is no sunlight.
Cozy bunk beds for the children.
To give a feeling a warm, cozy place they have put several bunk beds making it children dream place.
The light reflects off the water and gives a beautiful glow to the house.
The bedrooms are sophisticated and beautiful.
The shower and wash basin are in the bedroom itself.
The guest bedroom.
Who wouldn't want to wake up to such a beautiful view? The house is everything one can dream of. It has a peaceful aura around it and is fully in tune with nature. It has all the modern facilities and still has an old vibe to it.
