She Dreamed That She Went To Heaven And Had A Conversation With God and God Said He Will Send Someone - A Man - God Gave her A Vision On What The Man Will Look Like.
She dreamed that she went to heaven and had a conversation with God, with the help of her late uncle as her sign language interpreter. In her dream, God said he will send someone - a man - and God gave her a vision of what the said man will look like. In that dream, she fell in love with the man on that dream. After that dream, she mustered enough courage to tell him about her dream on his Facebook account. She wanted to meet him in person, but at that time he was in the UK, and with patience and God's time, she will eventually meet him in the Philippines. The day flies by and reached the month of November/December last year, She got surprised by a sudden invitation from Shawn to go to Boracay to attend his cousin's wedding in January. It's her chance to chat with him but she has to wait until the wedding ceremony is over. Thanks to texting technology, they were still able to chat during that time even if he hasn’t learned much sign language yet. And luckily, she was able to steal a couple of minutes away from him to take this lovely photo after the ceremony.
I thank God for making my dream come true.
As with all good things, I have to go back to Manila while he stayed behind in Boracay. Lucky for me, I was able to take a photo with him after the wedding ceremony — a wonderful souvenir of that wonderful time. This, together with a Holy Bible which he gave to me as a gift.
This is how Christine Balaguer and Shawn Stansbury's love story started. After they made contact in the wedding ceremony Christine asked Shawn if he wanted to hang out, which they did. Twice. During those times, She can't seem to take her eyes off of him. She kept thinking of this wonderful gift that God has given her, that He finally answered her prayers. Shawn is everything she could ask for. She knew their relationship is headed somewhere, so she invested time on teaching him some basic sign language. It's a slow and steady progress. But she knew it will be worth it.
As I am Deaf and my boyfriend is hearing, communication will be an important part of this relationship. Shawn accepted me for who I am, and that makes all the difference.
It was also during this time that I gave him something to remember me by a portrait which I did of him.
A relationship between a deaf and hearing person is hard because in order for their relationship to work they need communication. But with the power of love and guidance of our Lord God, anything is possible.
