Construction Workers Accidentally Found These Old Pots That Contains Roman Empire Coins


In Spain, construction workers stumbled upon some old looking pots. The workers were digging a ditch when they encountered these pots and they weren't sure where the pots came from.

The pots they had found are called amphoras. The amphoras were made during the time when the Rome was in power throughout Europe. After clearing out the dirt that is attached to the pots the workers discovered that the amphoras are filled with coins.

In total, they have found 19 amphoras and they all contain lots of bronze coins which are from the Roman Empire. The bronze coins weighed about 1,300 pounds in total.

Researchers said that the coins are dated back to the third or fourth-century A.C.E, but they don't believe that the coins actually in circulation.

Features on the coins are Emperors Maximian and Constantine and the coins could be worth at least several thousand euros.

When the researchers are done examining the historical find the coins they will be placed in the Seville Archeological Museum.

What an amazing find! This shows that there are still many artifacts hidden in the ground and just waiting there for a long period of time until someone finds them.
