This Lady Stood Up For All The Gamer Boyfriends, Hats Off!

Considering that you’re a gamer and you have a girlfriend, it’s not such a stretch to imagine that your girlfriend can seldom feel a little possessiveness over the attention you might be squandering on your game instead of her. Except, of course, she’s a gamer herself.

I’m sure you’re familiar with the whole argument about “who’s more important, game or me”. Well who’s the ridiculous one here? We’re not the one’s representing a game!

But seriously though, we’d urge the girl to give you some space to game; it’ll make both of you feel better, and there are even opportunities to bond. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the Facebook post here.

This Malaysian girl had the exact same problem of a gamer boyfriend (in that he was obsessed with a mobile game somewhat like Mobile Legends, if you’re aware of it). They had fights about it too, since he couldn’t devote his time to her if he was gaming. Then one day, she decided she had enough, and left him alone to his game.

That turned out to be the better idea, as it wasn’t even 30 mins before he came looking for her to share his joy of victory.

(bet you expected some sappy story about how he suddenly realised he’s losing the more precious thing to him—her. Haha, no)

As time went by, she began to watch him play, then cheer for him, help him, and eventually play with him. Instead of letting a game ruin the relationship, she let it strengthen their bond.

The girl, Jolin, then suggested girlfriends everywhere to try his hobbies (games) as well, since it was quite normal for the guy to follow the girl on things he might not enjoy as much (sappy romance films, shopping trips etc.).

She also said that it was quite simple to avoid confrontations, if the girl doesn’t enjoy gaming at all. Just accompany him, without being unnecessarily vexatious. Besides, it’s a game. It’s not going to “steal” the boyfriend away anyway.

To that I say “Bravo!”, Jolin. Well said. Thanks for standing up for gamer boyfriends everywhere!
