A tank from the world war two has been discovered the tank is said to be a Canadian "Covenanter". It is one of two tanks buried at the site by Canadians at the end of the war.

A countryside manager for the National Trust, Andrew Wright went to the Vinyard to watch the excavation.

He said that "It was quite a long, slow day really but still really exciting as everything was gradually revealed; especially for a layman like me. it was when the recognizable 'tanky' bits started to come up, like the tracks and the wheels and where the turret would have been that it got most exciting."

There is another Covenanter tank discovered at the Denbies site in the 1970s after its burial site was identified by a former gamekeeper of the land.

The Canadian army in the year 1940 and 1944 have used the two discovered tanks for training purposes.

The tanks were used only for training purposes because it is not well armored and cannot match the German tanks.

What a discovery! Not one but two tanks have been discovered isn't that a spectacular find.
