Time Capsule From The 1890s Uncovered By Construction Workers


Construction workers found time capsule that contains items from the 1890s. The time capsule is actually a metal box that has a size same as a shoe box, the capsule was discovered buried inside part of Ruthven road bridge near Kingussie in the Cairngorms.

Inside the box contains a newspaper from September 1894, a paper scroll and a bottle that is believed filled with whiskey. The items found have been donated to a museum in nearby Newtonmore.

Construction workers from the company Morgan Sindall are the ones who discovered the time capsule during their work on replacing a bridge.

Robert Ogg from Morgan Sindall said that "It is fascinating to think these items have been sitting in the bridge's structure for 121 years."

It's quite amazing finding treasures of the past it brings back a lot of memories for the people who were born in that generation.
