Actress Shaina Magdayao Is Suffering From A Major Health Sickness
On her previous interview with PEP and ABS-CBN Push, Shaina revealed that she’s suffering from an illness that depletes her immune system. Medically, she’s been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, a condition that experienced by women during menopausal stage. For Shaina’s case, the illness is targeting her metabolism as well as her immune system.
Shaina shared the times when the illness attacked to the point that parts of her face such as her eyes, lips and cheeks swelled.
The Kapamilya star somewhat blamed the cause of her illness from working too much without having proper and enough rest. Plus, her latest TV series required too much energy and emotion which drained her out.
“Sakit siya ng nagme-menopause. Siguro kasi, I started working at a very young age. Walang enough tulog, puro puyat. Tapos nung January, namamaga ‘yung lips ko. So, meron akong angioedema and urticaria,” Shaina told ABS-CBN Push.
The actress also narrated her experience when she was in Baguio for taping that she needed to be injected with meds so she could sleep. This was the same time when she started to see various specialists check on what she’s suffering from.
” So, lahat ng espeyalista, na-ano ko, specialist, ‘yung immunologist, nagpa-check-up na ako kasi hindi namin alam kung ano ang nangyayari. Eh at that time, nagti-taping kami sa Baguio and hindi nila ako mapababa ng Manila kahit na ini-injection-an ako ng pampatulog, ng Benadryl, ng anti-histamine,” Shaina shared.
Notwithstanding her illness, Shaina proceeds to meet all her commitments and even scheduled to go out of the country to shoot for a movie and soon after the project, she will be flying to Siargao for an event organized by her foundation.
At the end of the day, Shaina remains positive with all the projects coming which she believes and considers as blessings.
