"Tapos na daw ang OPM?" Chito Miranda Has A Message For The Mainstream Media.

Original Pilipino Music also known as OPM, originally referred only to the Filipino pop songs, particularly in the ballad form; OPM now refers to any type of Original Philippine Music created in the Philippines or composed by individuals of the Philippine extraction, regardless of the location at the time when composed. The lyrics may consist of any language but most of it is written either in Tagalog, English or Taglish (combination of English and Tagalog).

One example of a successful Filipino rock band today is Parokya ni Edgar. Darius Semaña is their Lead guitar, Dindin Moreno plays the drums, Gab Chee Kee play the Rhythm guitar, Buwi Meneses plays the Bass guitar, Vinci Montaner as Backing Vocals, and Chito Miranda as their Lead Vocals.

Recently many genres emerged and eventually gained popularity throughout the world. Some people in the Philippines say that OPM is long gone but Chito Miranda stated on his post from a concert he attended that OPM is still alive in their world. Let's read his full post.

People in social media agree's with Chito Miranda that OPM are still alive in their hearts and forever will be.
