Elderly usually retires from their job at the age of 60 and enjoying the rest of their life before they passed away. Most of them were under the care of their children because of their old age.

Nowadays, we read a lot of articles and post in the social media about elderlies who are still working hard despite their old age just to provide the financial needs of their family.

However, an 80-year-old grandpa from Bitukang Manok in Pandi, Bulacan walks kilometer from his house going to Real de Cacarong also in Pandi just to sell shrimp paste or locally known as ‘bagoong’.

The old man identified as Manong Lauro chose to walk rather than taking a ride from public utility vehicles, which consume most of his daily earnings. He was bringing the pail of bagoong , which enables him to earn P50.

The story of Manong Lauro was posted on the Facebook page “Trending Pinoy Videos” but unfortunately it is no longer available.

According to the social media website “Rachfeed” the netizens commented on the story that Manong Lauro should not fetch a pail of bagoong while walking about 20 kilometers everyday just to earn cash.

The life of Manong Lauro could serve as an inspiration for most of the young Filipinos who only waits for their family to feed them although they have still the strength to get a particular job.
