These Students Thought That Their New Home Is Haunted But When They Found Out About A Secret Room They Discovered Something More Haunting

They thought that their house is haunted because they hear strange noises in the night and mysterious happenings like when they come home and find the cup board and oven doors open. But after a thorough search of the building, they discovered a hidden room in the basement behind a door which they thought was just a maintenance cupboard.

After they discovered the door they forced it open and got surprised whats behind those doors, a complete double bed, framed photographs and student textbooks.

Mark Harman, one of the 14 students living in the three-storey building, told university newspaper The Lantern: 'We had been telling everybody the story about the ghost that lives in our house, coming and opening all our cupboards and our oven.
'Behind the locked door there were some weird noises like dings and knocks and stuff.'
Another student, Brett Mugglin, recognised the man in the photographs as someone he had seen in the property earlier in the summer.
He had spoken to the man who said he was wondering when he was going to meet the new residents of the house. But when Brett asked him if he lived there, he had avoided the question.

The guy living in the secret room is named Jeremy who is also a student. They immediately change the locks and left a note on the door advising the mystery roommate that he was being evicted.

One of the student said he and his fellow students bore no hard feelings towards their mystery roommate, adding: 'He was a nice enough guy, he just wasn’t supposed to be there.

'I feel bad for him. It's just, he wasn't supposed to be living there ... It's funny now, but it potentially could have been extremely dangerous given that some random guy had a key to our house and was just living in our house without anyone knowing.'
They are also angry at the leasing company's lack of oversight and are considering legal action.

As one of Mugglin's roommates tells the Lantern, 'They hadn't changed the locks from the year before, and the keys don't say "do not duplicate." There could be hundreds of people with keys to the house.'

Ten students live on the second and third floor of the house under one lease, and the first floor is leased to five other people.
